What exacty does the resonator do? Friend told me to take it out because it's worthless. How do I take it out?

Thanks.

removing it makes your car louder and more annoying. you dont gain anything from it (except an annoying sound), and its actually part of the midpipe, so be prepared for cutting and wielding. and remember sound atracts cops.

im gonna get some custom pipes done this weekend .. im still debating weather to keep the resonator or do full catback.. two of my friends have preludes with no resonator and it sounds pretty good not ricey at all..

i guess im gonna have it taken off and if it sounds too loud i can just have it welded back in place

Took mine off when I installed a custom cat back with Borla muffler. Sounds real good. Nice low rumble and not annoying at freeway speeds. Lose it and get a good free flowing muffler. You'll like the results.

I think he's talking about the intake resonator or "silencer". Go ahead and take it off, you'll get a growl out of the intake...don't expect any more performance though.

when i pull my resonator out i notice a HUGE performance decrease. HUGE!!

it doesnt happen right away, it takes a couple days. i dont even notice, really. then ill put it back in and within 10 minutes ill feel the car tug ALOT harder.

its all feel, but yeah. id leave it in
