how to get the silencer out of N1 exhaust
Ok ready?
You will need:
4 1/2" of 1/2" round stock ( steel rod)
17" of 1/4" round stock
5/16" tap & die set
Now, take the 4 1/2" piece and measure 2 1/4" down from one end. mark it, thats the center. Drill a hole there and tap it (5/16 tap)
Next, take the 17" piece and measure 1"down and lock it into a vise at the mark. I used a hammer and hit the piece sticking up (1") and beat it 90 degrees. Open the vise and rearange it so you can squeeze that 90 into a 180 degrees. Squish it against the rod so they are parellel. you should now have a 1/2" to 3/4" hook bent on the end. Not a "J" but tottally closed. Now, take the other end and with your 5/16 die thread the other end down to about 5/8". Finally, screw the end into the handle and you should have a "T" shpe with the "l" part crimped at the end. Insert the long crimped end into the end of the muffler and feel it "hook" onto the inside of the silencer. Give it a few hard tugs and it should pull right out . Pm me if you have any questions. Hope it works for you as well as it has worked for me
