You can replace your cluster, but your odometer will be off because it will start back off at 0 (if you buy new) or with whatever mileage is on it if you get a used one from somewhere.

what's up dude,
your question is pretty simple. I have a DX automatic sedan, I went to www.hondaautomotiveparts.com and order the EX automatic cluster. I got it within 3 days.
All you gotta do is remove your dash cluster visor which is held in place with to screws pull it out then pull out the OEM cluster be gentle, then unplug the wires which are located on top of the cluster control. and just plug it back into the new cluster and that's it.
the only down side is your odometer starts back at zero..your OEM cluster saves the last mileage number so you can add it up in the future if you have to..
Good Luck

andyman97,
I'm like you. I want the tach, but I don't want to spend a boatload of cash on a gauge cluster and have to deal with mileage discrepancies when I eventually sell/trade the car. I'm looking into getting a gauge pod that mounts on the A pillar and can hold a small tach. To me, that wouldn't look too bad and would blend in nicely with the interior. Bad thing is that I don't think anybody makes a gauge pod for the 7th gen civics yet. If anybody knows where to get one, please reply!! I read in another thread that the one for a prelude fits with little modification, so that might be an option.
edited: ok, check out THIS THREAD about using a Prelude pod.
Also look at Intruders ride HERE to see what it would look like installed. He was mounting a Voltage meter, but you could probably find a tach that'll fit.
