Removing engine mount for HP Header
Instead of shaving the engine mount and f'ing up the warrnty, couldnt you take the enging mount off and then put the header on? I mean taking the mount off is simple, my friend changes his mount on his sunfire all the time. Im not too sure if this is possible but if anybody has done it out there, that would be sweet.

I was wondering the same thing. If someone removed just the ONE MOUNT from the car for the hour or so it would take to get the header on and put the mount back in, would it really do any harm? Could the other mounts hold the weight of the engine? Where would one jack from? It seems like a much better idea than "shaving" an already alarmingly weak mount.

I saw an ex civic coupe with the hp header and cat installed at a meet here in charlotte. It looked like the path of the left tube went straight through the area that the right part of the motor mount sits in. I always thought that was the reason for shaving the mount. Now, it seems that it has to be shaved to just get the darn thing in.
You guys know if these are off back order yet?

Ya, there off backorder now, just order it from nopi, they got a shiet load of em in stock. Im saying though if you take the mount off and slide the header in that way, it would fit fine wouldnt it? I mean the reason for shaving the mount was to get the header in, so if you take the mount off completely, you should be able to get it in with no shaving at all

well i ordered mine for nopi also and just got it in and going to try to install this weekend and was wondering the same thing cant we just take off the engine mount, and i also heard you only need to shave the mount "Just to Fit it in" thats all, well I know if you do take off that engine mount you should use a floor jack to hold up the engine
the floor jack will support the front of the engine until your done. I will see this saturday because I will be installing mine

I will see this saturday because I will be installing mine no it didn't come with the o2 simulator but o-well its will perform the same with or without it, I think maybe next paycheck I will buy the simulator just for me it's one thing at a time I'm not flowing in money that I wish I was. I will be installing tomorrow =]]]]]]]]]]]]]] but if the engine mount is to hard to get out I will be shaving that **** down I mean who wouldn't 14+hp what can you say it's worth it. And you probably can order a replacement engine mount from the dealer "to have just in case" I will be doing that, won't hurt to have a spare engine mount laying around would it?

Right now I have an exhaust leak between the header and cat. I wouldn't recommend the gasket from Honda because it doesn't seal well. It is really sluggish so I won't right a review until everything is fixed.
done with my installation of my Hp Header and High Flo today, bah took forever I swear, well it is true manuals you do have to have to shave because the left tube rubs right against it and if you don't shave then you won't be able to fit it in... all together took me about 7 hours, bolts were hard to get off even with the synpower, shaving was the biggest pain the a.$.$. I swear I spent around 3-4 hours just shaving the engine mount to get the thing in, the tools I used were the same as overthetop, but I also used a huge file to just shave, I didn't even cut as much off my engine mount as Overthetop did just little bits and pieces but mostly I just shaved with my file and slide it right in, but while I was installing the header I thought about using a Dremel tool kit (2 bad I don't have one) well if you do, you should try it out dremel's are small and can fit into those places and plus they cut a lot faster than a hacksaw by hand would........ but overall the installation is LONG! !!! and frustrating, now I just need aftermarket exhaust to go with this new setup......... Now I don't know if its true but I've heard your car has to get used to the airflow correct or wrong??? But I did notice a nice boost around I say 3800 rpms, oh btw I have a Ex Coupe 5 Speed ( Hp 4-1 Headers w/High Flo Cat, AEM Intake) well I give my car about 4 days to get use to the new setup OH and also I did not get a Check Engine Light Warning =-] well have a nice day. Does anyone know what I would run with HP Header 4-1 and Intake???
i didn't take out the engine mount because it would of be useless to do, you have a auto which your engine mount is tiny compared to my 5 speed engine mount and yes my tubing did ran right on it and I wasn't able to get the left side of the header on the block because the tube was pressed right against it but o well i did it and love it plus once the new header comes out god knows when ill buy it and put it in and put in a new engine mount =]
