engine question

ok, what kind of engine do we have in the 01 civic ex models???

If you look at a lot of websites, there is all types of stuff made for them. I am specifically talking about throttle bodies at the moment. They never say what model or year on most of the websites, the just give the options of engine types. STR makes a throttle body for the "b- series" engine. WTF- doesnt mean anything to me, anyone please help!

Actually most civics come with D series engines. The B series are dual cam designs, while D are (almost all) single cam. B series are usually found in the 99-00 civic si and integras generally. The engine code for the 7th gen DX, LX, (and HX?) is D17A1, the vtec version is the D17A2

D series are JDM as well.. there are also USDM Bseries engines.. The Japanese Ferio RS uses an SOHC 3stage D16 engine. All D series egines use the same Block..all B series engines use the same block....Internals are different..heads are different. Manifols are different. Exhaust systems are different..ECU's are different..rotational direction can be different. Cylinderbore can be different...same Block though... the B16, B18,and B20 all have the same identical block.. all have different heads..cams.cranks..rods...yadda yaddda

Clarification..all B series use the B series block..all D series use the D series block. Both blocks are VERY different..
