My friend bought one for their Volkswagon. Basically you change the engine management chip which adjusts the air to fuel ratio. My mates Golf was originally a 110BHP TDI and after he chipped it he got it rated at 128BHP. I will try to get a website that sells them.

LMAO!! I guess that salesman was sorta right but still...never heard it called that before...

IC stands for Integrated Circuit, which, technically, would be an apt description of an EPROM chip. This is the swappable chip inside the ECM (Engine control Module), which contains all the fuel and ignition maps for your car.

ok IC Chip is just a fancy name for the chip in your ECM. So when you buy the Jetchip you're doing the same thing. An IC chip is just a small processor that can be reprogrammed.

I went to a toyota dealership down here in houston looking for a car and we took my girls rsx (non-type s ) and the sales man was like "yeah all you need is to put a k&n or an a&m or something like that filter and it'll give you 40 Horsepower!".

plugs in "chips" are pure snakeoil. hardly worth the silicon they are made of.
