Gauge cluster

OK this really sucks... but im am in a bind here.... my brother in law was putting indeglo gauges on my car... and in the middle of the DIY he accidentally snapped my temp. gauge ... it was an honest accident... so i didn't freak on him... basically my question is if i replace the WHOLE cluster... will that change my mileage, since it is digital? or is that info stored in the computer? I seriously have gotten a few different answers... but i need to know for sure... I don't want to mess anything up if it changes my mileage. Plz help.

yes if you put a new gauge cluster in it will start over at 0 miles. There not cheap either. When I did my gauge cluster swap I paid over 400 bucks.

Can't you just get a new needle? Or superglue it back together?

If you replace the whole cluster, you're going to lose a lot more money that just what you spend on the cluster itself. Your miles will be inaccurate, and that will greatly reduce the trade in value of the car. No one will probably even notice the messed up needle, and there is a warning light in the event the car starts to overheat. I would seriously just try to get another needle, or just live with it. You stand to lose a few thousand bucks when you trade it in if the actual miles are not on the car (it's stamped on the registration, so theres no way to hide it).
