spark plug...

just got the new denso iridiums into the car, here is a pic of the stock spark plug, my car has 24000 miles

can someone tell me why is it like that? none of my friends can give me a straight answer, one of them never seen something like it. is it because i beat on the engine too much?

you need a socket with the rubber surround, a 10mm socket and a flathead screw driver, use the flat head to take the sparkplug wire cover off, use the 10mm to remove the coil thing and then use the socket with the rubber suround to remove them

I haven't found out why they do that. I toke my out a 3,000 and they were all brown lookin, but not that bad. I had a Neon R/T that did the same thing. I'm kinda getting to the point that all of the plugs that go down into the engine like that will do this. Don't realy know? Wish I could give you an answer because I would like to know to. I've heard it's the arking from the wire to the plug????

You need a socket with a rubber center in it so you plug doesn't just fall in the hole and bend the end of it. Also so you can get it out unless your using pliers or something.

I had the same situation! I replaced the stock ones with Iridiums, and my stock plugs were like that....even after a year of having the car, it scared the heck out of me to see em like that!

I have never seen a plug come out of a car that didn't look like that. I am almost certain it is completely normal. I have no idea why though.

I love my Irridiums but you know what guys.. its sounds like and from what the picture shoes that you guys had standard Denso... i had NGK in mine. and I bought my car from a dealer brand new. weird uhH???

as far as the brown stuff that is normal. other than the tip thats the hottestest part of the plug because of heat transfer from the block .. I cant think of a car I owned that didnt have a little bit of brown on it.. but the harder you drive it the hotter it gets so one car may have more than another
