Once again: B-Series swap

This might be a stupid question, as I've asked this before, like, 2 or 3 times. People have told me that a B-series is possible in a 2001 civic coupe. My dad's friend works for Acura and he knows just about everything there is to know about Honda's, and he says it's definately possible. I'm just wondering if anyone makes a mounting kit for this yet, HASport is making one for the K-Series, and I was just curious. If not custom fabrication is a duh, and that's not a very large problem. Also, my car is an LX so if I swapped a B16A2, then I would need a VTEC wiring harness. Should I find a used one or is there a company like HASport that sells them?

IM me on AIM at TehBandicoot or email me at tehbandicoot@hotmail.com, or just reply, whatever. Thanks.

I don't think anyone is going to make B series mounting kits, b/c for some reason putting older engines in newer cars is illegal.

Only engine you could swap legally would be a 2001 B18C1 GSR or 2001 B18C5 Type R motor...if you even have a 2002 Civic then you're screwed...either way youre gonna pay out the butt to get that motor in there, if it even fits.

real simple. get a 2001 B18 from a gsr, get the engine, trans, axles, wiring harness, and ecu. you can use the stock mounts from the gsr except the rear mount which will have to be replaced with a rear mount from a 99-00 civic si. use the wiring harness from the b18 with the ecu from the b18. power steering wont fit, i'm not sure of ac, and the battery has to be moved, best place to move the battery is into the trunk.

Now that the HARD stuff's outta the way . . . . . . we can look at price. According to Import Builders, the B-series swap would be similar to the K-series in terms of difficulty, but that's where the similarities end. And since a B18 is larger than the k20 (yes I know the B18 is 1.8 liter and the k20 is 2.0 liter, but the B-series is STILL bigger SOMEHOW) you'd have one HELLUVA time fittin' a turbo in there, let alone power steering and A/C.

The B-series is not bigger than the K-series engine. The problem is the orientation of the engine and it relation to the 01 Civic's engine bay. Because the front wheels and firewall are moved forward to make more cabin room the B-series engine will sit very close to the fans. This makes the turbo mounting difficult.

Even though the GSR mounts will not work as suggested by 01CIV01, mounting the engine will not be that dificult, the electronics will be most peoples downfall. Hooking up the fuel supply properly will also be a concern.
