sand your pieces down good,,,primer the hell outta them,,sand down the ruff edges again,,,more primer,,,,the some paint,,,then some more paint and the clear coat the hell outta them boys,,i did about 3/4 of my interior that way in a 6 hour time frame and they came out beautiful

sandpaper grit 100+ definently,.,, hold the pieces underwater and give em a good sand down,,,you dont have to sand them down after you primer them but it gets rid of ruff edges and these little annoying hard things that get all over them...plus the more primer the better it looks afterward,,and dont be afraid to double up on the clear coat,,,itll last longer that way,,i used plastikote candy apple blue with metal flake stuff and they look marvelous,,,only thing i did wrong was use two different primers (ran out half way) and some pieces are darker than other but still,,,loks ver nice

Thats a good way to do it if you dont want to keep the texture of the plastic... if you do want to keep some texture it's explained in the DIY section how to paint the trim. Mines drying right now

thanks again...but the diy doesnt mention anything about sanding at all . also, i was thinking about painting the shifter (99 ex automatic) because it seems to be fading a little too. its like a "rubbery" material. can i get some opinions on painting that? and would it be the same as the plastic trim even though its not the same thing? thanks again
