I have a black 2k2 civic. How many layers of spray paint should I use in the rear lights to smoke them? Also, how do I take out the rear headlights? I want to do this myself. Also, I have problems taking out the front headlights. I want to clear the ends but there is a third bolt which is inaccesible to me. My friends say that I have to remove the whole front bumper to take out the headlights. Is there any way that i can take out the headlights without removing the bumper?

Is there an easier way to seperate the lens from the headlight than just prying it?

ok ill answer last 2 questions...1st one is no, front bumper has to come off to get headlight out. 2nd one...put ur headlight in the oven on 200 degrees for bout 8 mins. It will loosen the sealant and u can pry it right apart...just be careful. Its easy so dont freak out cause i told u to cook ur lights...it works!

Im a SUPER member....plus ive done it like 10 times workin on my friends rides

How much spray paint do I use in the backheadlights so that i still may be able to see the white reverse light and the red lights. I want to smoke my rear lights but I want to be able to see the white reverse lights and the parking lights clearly too. How do I take out the rear headlights?

to take the rear lights out u unscrew the screw thats holding the carpet in, pull back carpet and u will see the bolts that hold the lights, unplug the bulbs, remove the bolts and the tails pop right out...easy bro...easy

rear headlights - do you mean the tail lights? well just peel back the carpeting in the trunk and you'll be able to get at everything. as for the headlights, just mask off the parts inside the chrome. check my members' rides page.

Question...so let me get this straight b/c I was told differently...

You can clear out your head lights by sticking them in the oven for several minutes??
I thought that you had to buy a whole new set of clear headlights?

Check the DIY & Search the forum. There are a million + threads on clearing headlights.

Anyway, I chose not to because they're stock so I don't want to ruin them & I plan on putting them on if/when I sell my car. Oh, and if you get a ticket for clear headlights, which are illegal...a stock replacement is a lot more expensive than buying aftermarket headlamps.

I'm not sure which state you are from, but in Florida clear headlights are completely legal...clear taillights are illegal

I understand you can take the reflector out of the housing too, so perhaps you could remove the reflector, spraypaint the reverse side with amber paint, and put it back. BINGO, legal semi-clear headlights would this work, anyone?

Adding paint on the reverse side of the reflector will just stop the light from coming across the reflector....do I understant what you said correctly?? =)

Bye bye!
