k20 swap asap
i have a 2001 civic ex 5-speed. my car got flooded this morning and my dad went out to my car so he could moved it because my interior got wet, well only my carpet, it was still raining hard. he started the car, BIG MISTAKE, the motor hydro-locked. the water was half-way to my doors. i say about 2-3 feet of water. i called my friend who works at a junk yard and he said he found a motor for me K20A2 with the trans, harness, axles, and ECU. my dad is talking to the insurance company right now and they're come over this afternoon to take a look at the car. I jus pulled the head out about an hour ago and it wasn't pretty. #1 cylinder: both intake and one exhaust valve got bent. #3cylinder and #4 cylinder: intake and exhaust got bent too. Do i need to buy anything like engine mounts or anything inorder for this swap to work. Did anybody did this swap before. i heard people talk about it but nobody did this swap before.

but i hate just saying that. The swap has been done by someone here.. Htown and you cant get aftermarkert mounts....the cost for this swap will cost you but if you can get the motor and tranny i say go for it but you have to fabricate basically the whole front end to get it in there and as of yet Htown dosnt have powersteering and if you are gonna do it make sure you get someone who knows what they are doing

You need more than just engine, trans, harness, axles, and ECU...... plus i think Import Builders used some Integra Axles plus a bunch of parts only found at the car dealer. Expensive swap... think about it.
it would be cheaper to just let the insurance pick up the cost of a new D17 vtec and let them take care of everything. i dont recommend doing this swap for 2 reasons.... (1) its gonna cost way more money than its worth right now... (2) it doesnt seem like you know enough about this particular engine swap, let alone engine swaps in general, for you to messin with ur car that much. engine swaps arent the greatest idea if you dont know much about cars and how to work on them... this is WAY more than a drop in and bolt up engine... lots of fabricating, and the need for many other parts, both new and/or used...
Contact Htown. Also contact Hasport...according to them, the whole swap is easier if you can also get the RSX subframe, which just bolts up to the Civic. Presumably, you won't need any custom mounts then.
Dude, hopefully you have flood insurance.. let them fix your car, if it's totalled.. get something faster, don't waste 10g's on an engine swap. It's cool that h-town did it.. but that way it'll get cheaper in the future for those that want to do it. Just think about it.. 10 grand for 200hp.. If you have 10 grand.. get a wrx, supra, or rx-7. 10g's is a nice downpayment.

got bad news, the insurance company totaled my civic out. they gave me 13+ for that car. which wasn't bad considering i got the car for 15+ and put 27,000+ miles on that car in 1 year. I jus got a new ride last week. i had to wait a week for it cuz the dealer had to order it, they didn't have it on stock. its a 2003 VW GTI 1.8T 5-speed. I went to 3 different dealership and all of them didn't have it on stock. i wanted the GTI 337 but they said i had to wait a month or two for it. so I got the next best thing. I was considering about swapping the motor though but the insurance company wanted to total the car out cuz the electrical systems and the ecu got wet. thanx for your guys help. peace.......
