Anyone else have a warped rear bumper?

I've got a problem with the stock rear bumper on my car. It's warped. It does not sit flush with the sheetmetal on the rear sides of the car. It starts out ok at the wheel well where it's attached, then bends in about 1/8" then comes back out and is actually too far out when it reaches the tail lights. At the corner, it sticks out about 1/8" but is fine all along the back of the car. It's uniform on both sides so it has to be somekind of problem. I'm gonna let Honda look at it when I take it for the 5000 mile check (in 400 miles) but I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem and what happened with it.

i'm not sure if this is true or not, but my friend's rear bumper's paint was fading really fast...so he took it back to the dealership.

they told him that quite a few rear bumpers are defective, and they are giving him a brand new one!

take it back! they might give you a new one!

Do you think that maybe they'll just put on the Wings West one I want? They probably cost the same..... but I doubt it.

My rear bumper kind of caves in on the sides of my Satin Silver 02 Coupe. I was curious about it, and I've just looked at a few other SS coupes, and they do the exact same thing. I've kind of accepted it, but now that I know that it may be defective, I might just take it back for a new one

My car has never been rear ended, so that isn't the problem. I'll have the dealer look at it, and see what they say.

Let us know so we know if the dealer will do anything about it. No reason for me to drive 30 miles for nothin'

I got my bumper checked where one side sticks out a bit cuz of bad molding/ installation and the service manager said that he can't do anything about it because no all cars are perfect.

you should have called BS on that dealer and told them to fix it. 2 days after I bought my civic, the CD player began crapping out. I had to fight with the dealer to fix it. They claimed that it was probably my fault and that i must have played it too loud . riight. anyway, I just told them that if they didnt fix it under warranty id take to the BBB and have my father's law firm contact them. That got their attention and got me a new CD player installed in under a half hour.

and by the way, the bumper on my sedan is like that too. But i might be out of luck for a free fix cause my car's left side doors got smashed in and its at the body shop right now. As soon as honda see's that they'll just blame it on the accident or say the body shop screwed up. However, it was like this since i got the car.

Coincidence, but yesterday I was at the shop, we noticed that the rear bumper on my sedan is kind of a different shade from the body, and also it sort of caves inward too. I guess it's a general glitch with our cars....

I have the same problem with my rear bumper. My trunk decklid also sits weird, and my fuel filler door sticks out too far. Argh.
