question on gels for dash,
okay, last night i was working with the dash lights and came to the point where i had to take off the orange pieces and replace with the gels i bought at the local music shop. turns out that the orange pieces were very hard like plastic and although the gels were plastic, they were about as thin or thinner than transparency paper. it was very hard to work with and i could get the ***** just right where the 3 a/c controls are. would it be easier to get the sleeves and cover the LED, or just change the LED out? where would i get such items. thanks for your help.
i searched all the local shops i could find and only came up with the gels. the auto shop that i went to told me that it would be almost impossible to find the size light i was lookin for in blue. so i bought some gels, put them on and they made more of a greenish tint. i figured it might work better if i squeezed two gels on one light. that made the light turn more blue, but it was very dim also . so in conclusion, i dont recommend the gels (at least not the ones i bought).

I've left it like that cuz im too lazy to get the gels. When you guys say music stores, do you mean like a store that sells instruments and such or like tower records. Thanks

yeah, places that sell concert equipment including lighting as well, there is a place here called hermes which is where I got the gels, I just wish they were more sturdy, I guess I would need to be more patience with it tonight.

oh and another thing, In taking off the center circle. the one that changes the temperature from hot to cold, even though i took of the piece that went there, when i plugged it back in, it still shows red and blue? should i rub off the left over coloring?
Alright yeah, the music stores we're talking about are the places that sell instruments and such, most of them sell stage lighting which is the "gel" that you use.
And when I changed my lights, I had to put one piece in the AC controls shaped as close to the original one as possible, and then I took a second smaller piece and sort of wedged it around the bulb, because otherwise it came out looking terrible. It's a little difficult to explain, but I'll try and take some pics and post them tomorrow for everyone ..
