HELP! my car is running like garbage
HELP! my car is running like garbage
hey guys, i come to you looking for some help! honda techs please read!
when first starting off in first gear i generally bring the car to about 3k rpm and then shift......off the line the car runs fine w/ no problems, but once i shift into second is where the problem occurs....
when i shift and the rpms drop and i get back on the throttle, the car doggs horribly, burrbles, and even occasionally BACKFIRES! (sometime out the ehxuast, sometimes out the intake!)......it will repeat this as i shift into third and fourth gears as long as i shift at 3k rpm.....
i can not recall the car ever running this poorly....
if it help, i have an AEM CAI and DC SPORTS exhaust....
please, all information, comments, and help are truely appriciated!

Check both o2 sensors, the sensor going into the AEM CAI, fuel connections to the injectors and on the rail, just make sure connections on everything are tight. Are you getting any check engine lights?

you are wrong in that they have to prove that the bolt on caused the problem in order to void the warranty. if it didn't cause the problem, then you're still okay.[hr]

Intake and exhaust may NEVER violate engine warranty. Ever. For any reason, except hydrolock. Anything before the throttle body or after the exhaust manifold connection has no effect on the engine warranty as long as the added part does not cause 2.1 or more PSI to go through the throttle body. Taken directly from Honda's full contract text.
If a dealer tries to tell you that a SRI, CAI, headers, or exhaust caused your engine problem (and the part was correctly installed, CARB compliant, and there was no hydrolock), then call Honda's Corporate Warranty Administration, get a full copy of the text, and go beat the service tech over the head with it until he fixes the engine.

i called the honda warranty service and they told me that the only way for an aftermarket part to void warranty was if the problem was directly related to it. i want to install headers and a high flow cat, will they void my warranty should something happen to my engine? will an aftermarket header and cat. pose any problems to my engine?

Mechanically no, but it could violate warranty unless the header and cat both have CARB exempt status, and still use both stock o2 sensors.
