Need help fast w/ problem!!! Installing Koni's & can't get the control arm part of the strut housin

Trying to put my Koni's in. Everything is ok so far, but I can't get the factory control arm of the strut housing to come loose. I got the 3 nuts off (the two attatched to the knuckle, the three under the hood, the brake line nut, and the strut arm nut(I can't get this part to drop off to take out the housing from the car)

Someone please help me.

You need a rubber hammer/mallet of some sort and you need to hit the strut so that it drops down off the bolt.
Same thing happened to me.

Basically jus keep banging the strut arm at the point it attaches to the end of the tie rod, until it drops down.

Good Luck.

thanks I was hitting upwards on the bolt, but it didn't seem to be budging 2 hours ago. I hope it's not this hard getting it back into it

One other thing though. I've got the spring compressed, but when I turn the nut on the top to take off the bearing, the shaft of the strut spins. Any idea how to keep it still to loosen the bolt?

need help again I am trying to rebolt the conrtol arm, but the shaft of the bolt keeps spinning, so the nut will not tighten. I tried tapped the top of the control arm onto the strut, but that doesn't seem to work very well. What has everyone else done?

use a floor jack and jack up the strut and spring that will take the slack away so you can put the bolt on easier

I've run into too many problems. I'll be driving to the shop with one koni and one groundcontrol on the front driverside close to where I work and will let them do it. Atleast it was something that wasted about 12 hours of my day, and it still isn't right. The car isn't even lower on that side and is still stock height, which I guess is a good thing, since it will be driven to the shop.
