Lowering my car. HELLLPPP!!
Ok, I'm sure this was posted somewhere in the forums. But I'm alittle tight on time.
Now, here is the situation.
I can get R1 coilovers for $280 CND, and they want 130 for the install.
Nuespeed Springs they want $350, and 150 for install.
I've been told my mechanics that coilovers are not good for my car. They say they make alot of noise. I find that hard to believe.
I have a 2001 Si.
What do you guys recconmend I do?
Help PLEASE!!!

i'm sorry but i'm going to have to disagree with injen... IMO eibach is overated and isnt worth $200 U.S.(i think thats what 300 cnd?). but ya i dont recommend r1 coilovers.
get either neuspeed or goldlines. it shouldnt be anymore then 160 u.s. shipped there.
edit: as for progress, i wouldnt recommend it cause the drop just looks ugly IMO. the back is much² lower then the front.

definatley springs, sleeve coilovers are crap, unless you go with a full set-up.....lots of $$$$.....this seems like a good time to sneak a quick question in, anyone riding on EX wheels with a 2.0 drop w/ some pics.....i appreciate any reply...thanx

I just Installed GoldLines on my Civic about a week and 1/2 ago, Yeah the drop is really nice not too low, about 1 finger and a half gap front and rear. I wouldn't exaggerate and say that it rides better than stock, Because no springs will ride better than stock.
Prismatic did you ever fix the camber for the rear? My wheels are slightly negative in the back, the fronts are fine...

just to let you guys know, i think factory spec for the rear camber is something like 0 +- 1 degree, meaning anything between -1 and +1 is within spec. and i think -.45 is the average camber on our cars. not sure how much our camber would be off with a 1.75" drop tho. but ya this information is 100% accurate, its just what i read from a couple of different sources.
also a cheap way to correct a very negative camber is... cheap camber fix. someone said it wouldnt work for our cars but from the looks of it i think it would(and someone else on this site thats tried it said it worked). but ya you might want to try it, what have you got to lose anyways $3 for some washers if it doesnt work? if it does work you save over $100. imma do this myself, its just a matter of getting my lazy butt out to home depot. oh and i'm not sure if the measurements(bolt/washer size) are the same for our cars so double check by looking at your car.

One of my friends reccomended Skunk2 springs. I took a look at some prices and they go for about $349 USD.
I dunoo but that seems alittle much for me, but then again you get what you pay for I guess.
Another thing I want to avoid is the slant of the wheels. Anything I can add to the suspension to avoid that? Other than getting full suspension done with struts?

skunk2 coils. Get the adjustability. If you are looking for another great company, go for Weapon-R coils with the helper springs. I have a friend who had those. Ever taken a california off ramp at 70? now he had koni adj/H&R sport springs. The ride is much better b/c of the konis. He had tokico blues with the coils. His car was hella bouncy. He should have kept the coils/koni, if you ask me. Anyone know about the trading site. He got the konis for $200.
skunk2 coils and groundcontrol are good. the best is to get full coilovers but they are hella expensive. weapon-r IMO aren't good, they are hella bouncy. but if u get sleeved coilovers get shocks.
