CAI Driving Question
I just got my Injen CAI installed, got the ECU reset and took it out for a spin.
It went in without any trouble... I just had a little problem getting the battery back in. No biggie. It was actually harder to wiggle the stock intake out than to snake the new one in. I DID take the bumper off, if for nothing else but to see what I was doing. I didn't cut the splash guard, I just pushed it back far enough to fit the pipe through between it and the frame. Other than that, I only looked at the instructions once... to find the bolt to remove to attach the pipe to. Total time: 3 hours. I was going slow and making sure I didn't mess anything up. This was my first mod....
On to driving..... There's a slightly noticable difference in power, I'm sure it will wear off as I get used to it. While driving it, I did notice one thing... At 3000 RPM the intake screams then quiets down some, then again at 6000 RPM, the intake gets very loud, then gets quieter. So the resonance frequency of the intake occurs at these RPMs. My question is, does anyone else notice this?
My other guess is that the filter is touching the bumper and is creating the vibrating noise.
Side Question: What do you polish it with? I've got dirt and hand prints all over it from installing it. I have aluminum/mag wheel polish and silver polish in the house. will either work?

I don't have the CAI but the SRI (injen)....I noticed no power difference (which most people didn't) but anyway, The sound, yea mine is the same.....2800 to 5500 it has a nice growl anything over 5500-6000 it just almost sounds stock........polish??.....I'm pretty sure aluminum polish would work.....although if yours is brand new....soapy water will work fine...

I have the AEM CAI and i think it only sound great until it reaches 4 and a half rpm and after that it really does sound stock. I guess I am gonna have to make it up with a loud Exhaust System!
