do you have to jack up your car to remove the bumper?

quick question, I'm skinny enough, I dont need a jack

Definitely NOT. You can do it without a jack.

Ehh ?? But you do need a friend to help you rip it off. So if your friend's called Jack

(sorry couldn't resist)

Depending on how much you have it dropped, you shouldn't have to. That goes for both front and back.

Heck no! It's pretty easy...and you dont need an extra person to yank it out from the clips...i did it myself out in my driveway...i went and found my old sleeping bag and rolled it out underneath it so if it dropped it would have a nice cushioned landing

You dont even need a friend to help you "rip" off your bumper. Once all the bolts and screws are out, it comes off pretty easily.

Hey everybody, where do you find those plastic clips? I broke a few of mine a while back taking off the bumper.

Yeah... so did I. I under-estimate my strength sometimes . I'm sure that the dealer has some. I've just been too lazy to go look for some.

honda dealer sells the clips but they are expensive... as long as you only broke on or something just forget it. I did and it is fine. No need for a jack or a friend, I did it all alone and had no problem. On the sedan a second person helps only when pealing the lights apart. the japanese headlights are a lot harder to do than the US made coupe headlamps

you don't need a jack, the only things that require you to go under the car are the clips and two screws under the bumper that keep it secured.

no jack required, just make sure if you go it alone to be really careful not to scratch the bumper cover, but if you're gonna put on a body kit, i wouldn't worry bout that too much either.

no, but put something soft on the ground to catch it so it doesn't get scratched.

Exactly how much are those clips? When I put mine back together I could've sworn I had more clips but I couldn't find them and then I looked at my girls new 2k2 EX (str8 stock) and said damn....I was missing two.

I just did it today... I jacked the car up to the lowest setting on the jackstands (about 8") My car is at the stock height and I probably could have done it without the jack, but it made it much easier to see what I was doing. The bumper comes off easily, but I'd recommend you find someone else to help, it's not heavy, but you don't want it falling on the ground... You may also want to cover the floor with something like a blanket just in case it falls. You also don't have to remove the clips that hold on the rubber spoiler on the bottom. That's attached only to the bumper and will come off whole. The 4 pop offs ontop, 6 underneath, 2 phillips head screws underneath and an 8mm bolt in each wheel well, will free the bumper up. then just start rocking it off from the end to the center. It's not hard.
