How Much to Weld and Fix hole in Rear Trunk?

My next door neighbor just got a spoiler from spoilerdepot.com and when he drilled the holes for the spoiler he drilled the hole for the brake light on the wrong side. How much would it cost to fix (fill in ) the hole in the Rear Trunk? I was told you cant really bondo metal because the bondo will just comes out later down the road. The best solution would be to weld new metal there and repaint it. How much would this cost to fix approximately?

leave the whole, the spoiler covers it?!?!
i mean it has to, think about it if it covers it on the right side it will cover it on the left too, or vice versa!
either way just see how it looks, and if it makes him feel better then put a piece of tape over it so it doesnt leak into the trunk
but it shouldnt ne ways

The whole still shows. He drilled on the wrong side and flipped the face plate (that little spongy rubbery thing that fits between the trunk and spoiler) so that it was backwards and in the wrong direction. Because o this he has a hole that shows. We went to home Depot and bought caulk and filled the hole with it so water wouldnt get into his trunk but it still looks like crap.

All I can say is measure twice cut once. And when it comes to cutting on a car measure like 10 times, because stuff like that can happen. Just get a new trunk lid from Majestic honda

Just add start drilling holes all over the car, you know, just like those pants from the 80's that looked like they were shot to death with a BB gun. Who knows maybe that will start a new trend. Would also make the car lighter, that means FASTER!!! WHOAH WHAT AM I WAITING FOR.......

I'm sorry for your bro, that sucks........
The hole may be small, but for a body shop to fill, sand, repaint, blend, and all that......your probably at least looking at 200-300$$.......I don't know how much a new trunk is, but good luck.

He should just drive it like that until it rusts, and when it rusts, the market should be crowded with parts for 7th gen civics at lower prices. and he should also look for a used one. maybe a car that had the front TOTALED, but the trunk is fine. he should be able to get a brand new trunk for no more than 50 bucks from a junk yard. SO DEAL with the hole, while looking for a cheap used trunk.
