clearing the ends
clearing the ends
I own a 2k2 civic coupe ex. I want to clear the front headlights and I tried taking the headlights out but I was not able to because I could not find the bolts that connected the headlights at the bottom. Can someone explain in detail how to take out the headlights or is there a website with a diagram?
Also, I took out the civic sign in the back and to get rid of the adhesive, I used 3m Adhesive Remover. After i removed the adhesive, the black paint faded out and now there is a white streak where the Civic sign used to be. Is there any way to fix this so it unoticeable?

It is sort of hard to see the headlights....basically if you go to the front of the car, and kneel down you will see it, but its hard coz its dark in there and the bolt is BLACK, so i can understand why it was hard to see...
You know the metal thing that goes under the headlights, it curves the same as the headlight, its at the INNER (closer to the front grille on both sides) side, you need a longer wrench to get it...its hard to reach without the proper tools
let me kno if u got more problems i have a 2k2 civic too!
IT SHOULD BE SO EASY ONCE THE HEADLIGHT IS OFF, THE HEADLIGHT WILL JUST OPEN UP, its easier then 2k1 for some reason IMO

that actually is the biggest pain in the *** about clearing your lights, that bolt on the bottom is hard to get to, i think its a 10 mm bolt liek the other two but youre just gonn have to feel it otu and get an extension or soemthing, thats what i did.that is all.
make sure you use an extension and you should be alright.....remember buddy, i used a hair dryer blower and it helped alot cuz the glue that they use to glue the headlights together is like super sticky and it needs to be like melted down so you can take it apart..its simple if you have someone helping you out. take your time and youll get it done. its worth it, and you dont have to spend 150 $ on some new HeadLights.
remember..look for whatever is attached to the headlight..and you can get it off in no time.
have fun.. i did. (yeah right, just drained about 4 hours)

ya, I used an extension for that bottom bolt. The right tools always makes thing so much easier.
Also, you don't really have to take your bumper all the way off. When I took the housings out, I left the 4 snap things on the bottom of the bumper in. Just tip the bumper forward and make sure the bumper is supported in some way so you don't stress the bottom of the bumper too much.

That was a great and stressful night when I cleared my headlights and the most trouble getting the chrome piece out of its clear housing. I thought I was going to break it.
