Exhaust Question? Why are there two mufflers?
I looked under my civic this weekend and found that there are two mufflers. Why are there two mufflers? I bought a "bomb" muffler from Arospeed and had it installed a few weeks ago. Now I know why it doesn't sound as loud as the other ricers in town.
Also, are there any issues removing the second muffler/silencer? (the one closer to the front)

whered did you get the after market resonator? and you car doesnt sound as loud because all you did was put a muffler on it you need to maker the diameter of you piping after the cat larger too for more souond

If you add a muffler and remove the res and still have the stock piping it's not going to sound lound at all. That is what kind of set up I have. It is sound good! I have that crappy Magnaflow muffler too!

the resonator causes some high frequency sound to be cancelled and mildly amplifies lower frequency sound...Most if not all aftermarket exhaust systems have a resonator..generally in the form of a bulge in the piping.

not a good idea to run without the resinator .. being that its a ULEV vechicle it will probably cause probs with sensors. just a thoght I dont have any thing to back that up but it makes sense
keeping the resonator is just a personal perference...if u want louder sound than take it off and if want quieter sound then keep it
as for the catalic converter...i strongly recommended not to REMOVE it cuz if remove it then the car will sound super super loud and it's no good in my opinion
