trim painting ideas!!!!

I want to paint all the trim in my car blue. I have an idea that all of the vinyl pieces come out some how, because they put them in. Has any one painted their entire dash. or removed their entire dash. If you post some pics or detailed instructions of how to do it

I painted the trim on the dash, the trim around the vents, and the trim on the console. It's all pretty easy to get out. Check out the DIY section. It goes over painting the dash trim piece. Here's a link.

Also, check out some of the member's rides. There's alot of people with their interior trim painted. I don't currently have any pics of my interior, but I think it looks pretty good.

I have already painted vents, center console, i want to know how to paint the entire dash a different color. And how to disassemble it to take it out of the car to paint it with out having to worry about covering up everything in the car!

to paint your dash or any other vinyl piece use Vinyl Dye for best results. Click here for direction on use it on a computer piece, but the same applies for automotive vinyl, it actually seeps in and changes the colour of the trim piece, also find better stuff than the SEM its really not made to do drastic color changes, I just posted it as an example, you should be able to find it at your local automotive/hardware store in many different colors, also there is always paint and body stores nearby in your area so visit the friendly folks there and get the dye and whatever else you need form them mst of them are really good at showing you exactly wha tyou need.

Peace.

Thanks for the link I will start the project next week. I will make sure to take pics and come up with a detailed DIY for those who need that bit of extra help.

IMO it really isn't gonna look that good if you paint the entire dash - unless it can match the rest of your interior. I hate people that make white dashboards that clash with their gray interior and black trim pieces. anything more than a 2-color scheme is kinda overkill to me.

I plan on doing a two scheme color in the car blue and silver. I'm tired of having the black dash. I need something original and new look to the car. Can any of you civic owners suggest a really good quality paint for me to paint with. Something that wont chip on the soft vinyl pieces?
