did i mess up my ignition???

well everyone knows that there are 3 stages on the ignition and the last stage is to turn the car on...after the car starts your supposed to let go of the key and let it spring back into place...well i was distracted and i held the key turned all the way for about 5 seconds...then i realized what i was doing and let it spring back...did i in any way hurt or burn my ignition? after that incident it seems like my car takes about half a second to a full second more than before to start my car...or maybe its just me...does anyone know if that messed anything up? thanx in advance!

doctor will become famous soon enoughdoctor will become famous soon enough
When I first got my car and was learning stick I stalled pretty often and since our cars are really quiet when idle I thought I stalled once and turned the iginition again and there was a horrible screeching noise and now once in a while it takes a couple of seconds for the engine to catch when I start...

It's not something you want to do a lot of. But, it won't hurt much to do it once. Only will affect the starter. No big.
