Cat removal on and such
Has anyone removed their stock cat and replaced it with a strait pipe with the stock header? I would put the 02 sensor where it would need to go. can i do this?

dont waste you time....makes the car loud, illegal (if you get caught major fines), and for the amount of HP (if any) you may get, its not worth the energy. BTW you need to get a hole tapped and threaded for the O2 sensor. And even if you did, your car would run like crap....

You would definately see some hp gains from a down pipe w/o a cat. OUr cars are ulevs and thus have a very nice cat in the exhaust line. Hksa on ebay sells them but there is no spot for the second O2 sensor. Even if there was, with no cat the computer would be flashing the check engine light. So, you have to buy a simulator for that sensor. I will probably be doing this in the next few months or so. It is a big risk. If you got caught, there would be big fines to pay. Although, the chances of an officer knowing you have no cat are slim to none.

Keep me posted. Do you have emmissions there? And, if so, how do you plan to pass them. Do you have a header? Let me know when you do it. PM me. Thanks.[hr]

Yes, I have the DC ceramic header. I have been waiting on the hp but am growing tired. Insan, a former member of the site, wrecked his vic and was selling the parts. He was selling the header for $80 and just happened to live about 20mins from me. I snagged that baby up for 80 bucks! Just couldn't pass it up. I am very pleased with the header.
That's why I am considering the test pipe and DC combo instead of waiting on the new hp combo. I don't know which would be better though. Seems like the dc combo would be best for mid-range power while the hp would be best for high-end power. I have seen the hp combo on a civic in person. A pretty big part of the motor mount was cut off. The diameter of the tubes is much bigger and of course the tubes themselves are quite a bit longer. I will say this about the hp though, they aren't nearly as nice looking or as high of quality as the DC.
I sent the ebay guy an email inquiring about the test pipe. He hasn't responded back yet.
yea... i took out my cat a couple of months ago and im kinda getting tired of it it was all good for racing and all but then like its a ricey noise i aint hatin or anything but you know ima probably get a hi flow cat probably redo my exhaust system
I took out my cat when I put on my Kamikaze header. The sound just a got little deeper. It's definitely not loud, like some of you guys describe. If it did sound like a giant bumble bee, I wouldn't like it.

I contacted the guy off of ebay that was selling the down pipes for our car trying to get one. I simply asked him if he would be selling anymore. He simply replied:
No sorry
I was pissed and still am.
