Ok i have a 2002 civic coupe want to drop
I can get the springs for like 100 and install them myself but the problem is i am leasing the car. At the Dealership i was at they sell lowering springs if Honda installs the springs would it still void the warrenty or no.. Also could i install it myself and not have the warrenty void??
I've talked to someone at Honda about springs, and he was pretty sure that doing springs will void warranty on the suspension.
I totally understand that, as imagine doing springs and not aftermarket struts, Honda can't warranty your blown OEM struts because of the springs, and we're talking a quite likely chance of that! If you put in Koni's, then it makes even more sense that Honda won't warranty what they didn't make.
Dealers will be very reluctant to put in aftermarket stuff on cars still under warranty, but I think the warranty extends to different parts, so don't worry about your trans warranty getting void for doing suspension... I'm going to put springs on and konis short after coz I think the factory suspension sucks anyway and don't care about the warranty.
But man, don't even think about doing any mods to your car if you're leasing... I think the dealer will charge you an arm and all three legs to get the car restored back to stock!

errrrrrrrorrrr!
just drop it yourself....bump that warranty shizzit!
when it comes time to return the lease, change it back to the stock suspension...very easy...it'll take a couple of hours only...
i did that before i sold my 94 civic...IT WORKED (no one noticed anything....and its much better than VOIDING your warranty)
try it!

I don't know about you but I am not willing to invest my money and time that poorly. Time IS money and in the end, you end up losing double: You void a warranty that you already paid for when you bought the car, and you lose time swapping components.

your best bet would be to ask the dealer...that way u will no for sure...but for me personally i wouldnt bother wit modifyin a lease car...cuz at the end ur goin to be returning it..y not just save the money...on another car that u will keep for good...that just in my opinion though

yea but i mean springs are 100 bux well at least out the door. i cant stand driving a stock car im used to having a hooked up car and it just feels weird. the civic is to high and it cant handle turns to well it needs to be lowered.
