2 questions regarding dash trim install

Alright I finally got my OEM CF trim for the car. I installed them but two things bothered me. The first was that when I cleaned the center console with 91% isopropyl alcohol (as the directions stated) I took off the finish off the console. Not all of it, but some of it. It's covered up by the dash trim but it still worries me because the directions didn't say that could or would happen.

The second question was that the right air duct just didn't stick right. I held on to it for so long and it just didn't stay. The one on the left did but that one is iffy also. Should I call up Handaacessories and have them send me out new ones or just use double sided tape to make up the difference?

Thanks for reading this kind of lengthy post.

By "finish" on the console I take it you mean the dealer-applied protectant? If so, don't worry about it, the plastic is still intact--it's supposed to have that matte-like look to it.
About the vent piece, try heating it a little with a heat gun or hair dryer so you can bend it to match the curvature of the dash and use some fresh 3m tape to stick it on...should work.

Yes I'm going to try the 3M tape. No I meant that it took off the color of the dash. There were white marks and when I looked on the rag it was black. I think it took off the paint from it. It's not a problem now since it's covered up but for other people beware. Maybe the alchohol was too strong. There was 70% available too.

Yeah seriously, I am going to contact Honda and ask them why they would recommend using a product that would damage the dash.

I have a dash trim kit also..not through honda tho. But some of my pieces don't stick well.... I was thinking of 3m tape but do they make really really really thin 3m double sided tape? Cuz if they don't it'll look bumpy...

Well I don't know how thin they make it. I'm guessing that I would have to take off some of the original adhesive that came with the trim so that it won't look bumpy. But I'm going to contact Handa to see if they could get me a replacement.
