changing auto to a manual ?
it can be done but i heard its cheaper just to trade ur car for a car that is already a manual
dont know the exact costs but imo its not worth it just trade it in or sell it for a 5 speed
ur best bet

its a lot of work, but it can be done. Umm..i think they have to play with the computer to get it to shift right and to keep the rpm's balanced. and of course, you need to spend liek over a grand on the transmission, and then they got to get it to mount up right. so you will have to pay a good bit of money for the labor. I dont think its worth it unless you were alreadys swapping the engine out and told them you wanted a standard. If you really want one that bad, you can trade in, or sell your car and prolly get one for cheaper than yours.
I'm bigger than you.

This is one of the dumbest questions that has been asked and answered tons of times on this board..........If you wanted a 5 sp in the first place, why didn't you just buy it then? It's always cheaper to buy stick anyway.
Well in my case I wanted a 5spd but I also wanted a 2001 model year (the 2k2 was gonna be too steep for me) so I got stuck with a choice between the tranmission I wanted and the color I wanted, and I decided I could live without the tranny - I wanted a black car! (the other was rallie red, and I wasn't in the mood to have a color that cops love to look for... mymustang was red - not going back. Okay this post was pointless, but there are reasons why you get what you get - If I had more money, I'd be driving a manual 2k2 NBP. Oh well, I love my car anyways

it's possible...and it would be better to trade in your car...cause that way..
you will have warrantee..but you can always do it..what they are trying to tell you..
it's just not worth it..but if you have the money..just do it..cause i don't think
you are the only one on the site that's wants to do it.
keep us updated by all means..

Actually it is cheaper to convert ur car because of the depreciation on the first year of our cars, i have checked for a while now and checked with several dealerships, it will save 3 -4 thousand to convert over to a 5 speed, i wish i would have bought what i want now though it would have been less hassle.

Hey I had an 2k2 LX auto for 3 months before realizing i should have gotten a 5-speed...so i traded it in for a used (20k) 2k2 SI/EX coupe and i'm happy as f@#k, took a 3 grand hit cuz of taxes and downpayment..but i'd rather live with no-regrets for the next 5 years than to lways be thinking, damn i should have gotten stick.
