Rep Power: 0 DIY Hard Wire Radar Detector for LX?
I've come across the Hard Wire Detector DIY for the EX, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to or where to find a DIY for the LX. I've noticed that there is only one wire with the LX. How do I connect the radar detector to that? If you know let me know. THNX

Rep Power: 0 Read this Thread about the DIY for the Radar Detector.... On the second page somebody suggests with a cigarette "Y" splitter that would make upgrading easier, it is also discussed about whether or not this DIY would work on a LX or DX and I think it should, but I'm not positive.

Rep Power: 0 Thnx for that thread DUPS...I took a glance at it and the one idea suggested worked. Some people recommend going behind the cigarette lighter...what's the easiest way going about it?

Rep Power: 394 you should start working out... j/p... its easier if you take out the middle console first, then take out the cig lighter part... to know how to take it out, use the diy for installing a readio at the top...
but ya faster way is to just pull on that peice that hold the cig lighter

Rep Power: 0 It should work with an LX too. If I remember correctly, the reason that DIY was for the EX only was because the dome light for the EX is right near the front windshield while the light for the LX/DX are more toward the center of the car, which means you'll have to snake the wired into the fabric of the roof to hide it. Also found this quote on the DIY.
You can do this in a lx too...When you take it apart you will only have one wire, which is your constant 12volts.You will have to use a ground too, with you can put around the factory screw when you put it back in.The only bad thing is that your radar dector will be always on since its not a keyed 12volt source. But I just turn mine off manually when I get out. Thanks for the ideas! Now my socket is open for other stuff plus it looks awesome.I just turned my radar dector upside down and velcrowed it to the top part of my rearview mirror.Ill take pics soon of it.
