alignment after a accident
awhile ago i banged up my front end...no big deal...but i had to replace alot of parts in the passenger wheel area cuz stuff was bent thus mis-aligning the car......i got it fixed at the dealer and they aligned it alot better then how it was....but the steering wheel still slightly pulls to the right.
i heard that u can never get it perfect when it comes to stuff like this...is that true?...should i expect them to fix the alignment perfectly?..or should i just be happy with what they have done?

okay, this is dangerous, so find a parking lot. and EMPTY parking lot, or one with a lot of driving space to do stupid **** on.
i got my pass. side lower control arm replaced after fighting with a curb... it didnt wanna let me finish my drift.
anyway, get up to speed, about 20 or so mph, and brake hard, turning the wheel in the OPPOSITE direction of the pull. i dont know what that does, but it straightens out my steering wheel and sometimes adjusts the "pull" of my car.
or just pull an e-brake turn in the opposite direction of the pull. either one.

i did the repair myself, and i ordered from Don at Majestic Honda.
Lower control arm was like $100 and change,
Sway bar link kit was like $12
New steelie rim was like $50
whenever i pull an e-brake 180 one way, the steering wheel sets and stays at an angle, like rotated 20degrees ccw.
to reset that, i just pull another one the other way.

The E-brake is too weak in my car! (02 LX Auto). I definetely CAN NOT drift using the e-brake... ::sniff::
Is this adjustable?

StraightEdgeCivic: I got in an front accident too and the body shop said I didn't need an alignment. I'll probably get one later on, although I don't notice any sort of a pull yet. Just sharing...
ak: Yes, somewhat adjustable. You'll have to take off the center console (the one with the e-brake in it). Then you'll see two bolts that adjust the tension on the e-brake cable. That's really the only thing to do. Lift up the rear of your car and spin the wheels. Then adjust the tension on each cable so that the wheels spin freely when the e-brake is down. You want them to stop spinning as soon as you pull up the e-brake. I did this and it improved the feel of the e-brake a little bit. I can probably exert more force on the rear brakes now since I don't have to pull up as much. Anyway, this helps...

btw...is ur signature picture ur car? and if so, did u photo shop that, or did u actually have the body work down to shave the doors and trunk? hopefully so...looks clean....almost as nice as mine! hahaha
you didnt do any frame damage did you? If I were you take it back to a body shop and have them make sure there is nothing else under there that is broken. Also did you check your tire pressures and tread wear. these are all factors that can throw things off and make your car pull in one way or the other. the parking lot thing I wouldnt advise. I would say though while you are goign straight let go of the wheel to see how mch your car pulls one way or the other

Aw, I'm sorry dewd. I couldn't resist.
You want to shave the door handles off? That would rock! I might do this if I can find a good enough remote and a secure enough control box.

autoloc makes some good stuff. everyone that i know with shaved handles used autoloc solenoids. dont ask me about the details, i dont know them. but hey, say hi to natalia for me! i havent seen her around on the site in a while!
