LIGHTBULB AFTER CLEARING HEADLIGHTS
I just did the DIY Clearing Headlights today, and it went nicely. I just have one question: Do I have to replace the turn signal bulb with an orange one, or can I just leave it like it is?

Depends on your state. in IL its illegal to have anything other than amber or red in your turn signal sockets. even teh clear ones are a violation. Just run out to yout local riceboyz and pick up a pair of 7443 anber bulbs, they will fit directly into a 7440 socket, you just wont use the second filiment for the brake lights. best thing is they are 5 bucks a pair in one package, Or you can order the amber LED 7440 bulbs for like 10 bucks a piece, but my store out here said it was like a 2 to 3 week backorder on them...

I got reprimanded my a sherrif at the end of my driveway abotu having blue turn signal bulbs and how only red or amber were acceptable, then the next day i put in my clear stock bulbs, and yet another local cop puts on teh tough guy act abotu my lighting not being street legal, but I explained my situation about the night before, and got off on a "you know what you need to do, ill be watching around" warning. Got out the next morning to the store and bought the bulbs.
Yes, front turn signal bulbs are 7443, and rear ones are 7440. The style of socket they fit in based on what i understood from the fitment catalog is that its a 744x style plug on teh end of the bulb. I was stating how a 7443 bulb WILL work in a rear turn signal socket, you do not need to use 7440 bulbs in back. You just dont get use of the second filiment like in the front as running lights. Also I was just letting whoever reads this know that from the looks of it we will soon be able to go LED all around on our civics now that there are 744x LED bulbs available.
Again, the best bet is to just go find a cop, and pull him over to ask what IS and what IS NOT legal as far as exterior lighting on your vehicle on public roads.
you can always try this
have a pair of amber lights in your car
and do whatever you want to the lights
then if you get pulled over
just tell them you just came back from buying them
and then bust out with them amber light bulbs
the cops shouldnt be that much of a hardas and would probably let you go
just an idea
