Break in period for new engine?
Hi guys,
I'm a newbie around here and I just picked up my 02 LX on friday. I was wondering how you guys suggest I break in the car for the first 3000km or so? Currently, I'm shifting at or under 3000 rpm, and keeping the engine speeds varied. Is there anything I should be doing or should know about during this break in period of the car?
Thanks in advance for the info!

600 miles, that's approx 1000km right? in that case, it's even better... heehee..... shorter time to break in the engine and more ime to have fun... heehee.... anything else i should do after the 600 mile mark? anything i should be aware of?
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
if you put 2 cups of sugar in your gas tank it will help with the break in and overall life of the engine, they don't do it at the dealer because they dont want the car to last 500,000KM.
What the heck happened to the smileys?

Skitzo - I think it's time for your medication again man ..
And yeah, the break-in period is only about 600 miles, and as long as you're keeping the speeds varied you're doing fine. After that, the best advice I can give is don't drive like me, cause I'm one crazy-*** driver.
Anyways, cheers!
