what to do with third gear??
I've noticed that too, when I ran my quarter mile, my first and second gears were closer ratios, and third gear took forever. put it this way, you can finish a quarter mile in third gear, with simple bolt ons, your going to want something that gives you really good top end. a supercharger would take care of that, when ever they decide to come out with one. or some pulley's and cam gears that would pull a little bit more.

Light-weight rims will help improve 3rd gear. Anything to lessen the load on the engine. If you ask me, light-weight rims is the most beneficial performance mod. I have seen a noticeable difference in 3rds acceleration since getting some rotas.
Want better performance cheap?
1. Leave girlfriend/boyfriend at home.
2. Run with 1/4 tank of gas
3. Get rid of those 50 lb woofers rattling your trunk
4. Get rid of the huge airbrake...er... wing...
5. Dump the air conditioner system overboard
Your girlfriend will hook up with your best friend 'cause he doesn't care about the silly cheap cars we enjoy (this is probably either bad or good), you'll probably run outta gas in the near future (bad), your hearing won't be damaged (good), you'll look less "ricey" (good), you'll end up hot & sweaty (bad), but hey, you'll go faster. LOL

Hum... I think the gearing in our trannies is pretty well matched to our engine's power. Although with top 1/4 speeds of 80 - 90 and top open speeds of 115-130 I'de maybe make the gearing a little more for acceleration than top speed. If it would be possible to change the gearing in the tranny then I'de go for it. I wonder. Hmm...
