modding trunk springs
Of course the 6X9s dont fit....sigh, but could i just bend the trunk springs i have now to make them go around the magnet? Would they still function properly?
thanks

i had infinity kappas in my car for a short while, they were WAY too big to fit. but i noticed that the rear of the speaker was soft plastic, (kinda rubbery) so i figured what teh hell, and i screwed donw the speakers and just bent the springs that way. worked fine.
later i took out those 6x9's and also teh springs, cause i was exploring teh idea of a hydraulic trunk opener. i fout it to be much easier to have the springs in there, like a counter balence, then use the piston to simply provide enough force to raise the trunk lid. when i reinstalled the trunk springs, i turned them backwards, so teh bump in teh spring pointed up, so i could have more trunk clearance.
works great!

the kickers i have (2ways) have no plastic whatsoever. Could I just buy the spoiler trunk springs? are they shaped differently? I'm still thinkin to heat up the bar with a torch then bend it using a vice or something.... when my dad gets home he will probably think of something. ahhh dad to the rescue
