Question about alignment after lowering

noob here, I did a couple searches and didn't get the results I was looking for. I'm purchasing coilovers soon and know I will need a camber kit and alignment not to long after. my question is this: do I need to buy an alignment kit (like eibach), or can I just go to any mechanic and tell them to align me? Also, if you have time to recommend a great camber kit, i'd appreciate it Thanks

All you should need to buy is the camber kit. Just take it back to your dealer so they can set it to factory specs for both camber and alignment.

As for the camber kit, either Hotchkis or Ingalls make good ones. Check out the Parts section...I believe there are links available there.

whether its springs or coilovers it'll probably void your suspension warranty(i've heard some dealers say its ok if they install the springs themselves). any other warranties, no. just remember by law, they have to prove the lowering of your car messed that(whatever the problem your having) up.

Exactly...my dealer installed the lowering springs and the camber kit. I had a rear damper fail and they actually replaced both under warranty

Yeah it is pretty much up to the dealer you go through. You don't need an alignment kit, but it wouldn't hurt if you did get, well, maybe your wallet.

but after u lower the car and installed the camber kit, it would be wise to do alignment once to save some treads of the tires

but I don't need an alignment kit to get an alignment? What's the point of those exactly?

if you get an alignment without an alignment kit, they will probably fix everything but the camber. since your camber is off your alignment is still technically off.
