Rep Power: 0 HKS Turbo Kit
I was poking through the 2002 May SuperStreet mag and ran across an article with a turbo'd 2002 (p78) and that got me wondering if HKS was going to crank out a turbo kit for the rest of us. From the looks of things, they are.
Here is brief look at a car from speed options >> http://www.speedoptions.com/news_hottestcar.asp?aID=2286&ref=default&v=5&pg=0
and a posting on the HKS forum >> http://www.hksusa.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=88&FORUM_ID=4&CAT_ID=1&Topic_Ti tle=2001+Honda+Civic+Turbo&Forum_Title=Product+Req uests
and the post that led me to that posting >> http://www.hksusa.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1102&FORUM_ID=12&CAT_ID=2&Topic _Title=Boost+for+Civic+EX+2002%3F&Forum_Title=Boos t
But no word on the site.. this is making me rethink things...

Rep Power: 0 thanks for the info, but this is old news! unless you have a release date for this turbo, we already know about how it is SUPPOSIVELY in the works.... i'll believe it when i see it on the shelves! IMO...you're better off having a custom turbo made for you. not only will it probably be cheaper, but it will also be available sooner!

Rep Power: 0 Well, at least I remembered it was a Honda as I did write the post after mid-night (pretty late for me). I am left wondering why a Vortex supercharger can't be configured to work if a turbo charger can. Also, the RSX (from what I get from the article on the K20 swap) shares the same chasis and several other components/component sizes as the 2kX Civics.
I am left wondering if just increasing fuel pressure to the engine via a fuel pump swap from an RSX will increase horsepower resonably. What I mean is will the $1000 in intake and exhaust mods not be beneficial until you drop another $700-$1000 on fuel system improvements.
I am left to beleive that the K20A3 will be a fairly cheap motor to pick up once the schematics of swapping out the K20A2 has been proven and documented. I can't wait for all of those nice fellows with the 2k2 Si and on start freeing up some K20A3's. Heck, price wise and installation wise, the less powerful K20A3 might be the next B18.
