Auto LX Intrument Cluster in 5spd. DX?

I was going through the junkyard today and came across a wrecked auto lx 2dr. I didn't have a screwdriver on me so I haven't gotten it out yet. I know there's the PRND32 display that obviously won't work but can anyone see any reason why the other meters wouldn't work properly?

other members here have done the swap and it's worked like it should... though they used the right cluster for their transmission. i'm 99% sure it will work... BUT... i'm 99% sure that tach will be WAY off -- 8000 RPM is at the 2-o'clock position on the automatic tach, and it's at about 4-o'clock on the 5-speed tach... but, i suppose it's better than having no tach

if i were you, i'd grab the cluster while you can. even if the tach is inaccurate, you can fix it by ordering the 5-speed indiglo gauges from APC... cuz those will have the correct layout and cover up the PRND32.

also, if you do get the indiglos... make sure that you get the APC ones. i've seen a few other brands on ebay, that were "specifically for the 5-speed" and had photos of "the exact one you're bidding on", and they were nothing more than the automatic-style without the PRND32 thing.

It should work, it should be pre-wired.

I don't see why the automatic's electronic tach would be off. The tach wire sends a pulse depending on RPM in both 5spd and auto cars. I'm sure you're right about the tach not sweeping the same distance but I just can't understand why the rpm would be inflated.

Well I put the new cluster in and everything works perfectly. The PRND32 doesn't light up at all and my mileage is now ~10000km instead of ~43000km.
