Muffler Only(all show) Need Expert's Help Please

I've decided that I want to buy the DTM dual mufflers that point out and upwards on my Sedan. I was wondering what the diameter of stock piping is, therefore I would have to buy the muffler with the correct inlet diameter too right? Also, I would like it to come straight up and out in front of my bumper and not stick out too much, so would I be able to instruct the guy thats gonna be welding it for me? or is there only one place you can put it due to the hangers? I hope it wont sound too ricey... Oh well... Please help experts!!!

when u take it in the shop should be able to weld it on. he will just have to fill in around it to seal it up. as far as the sound you will notice alittle differnce but you won't hear it in the car with the windows up.

I looked at a few places online and said that the inlet for the muffler is 2.5 I hope thats not all the muffler inlet comes in, b/c I know for a fact that our stock piping diameter is not that big. What is the stock piping size?

Hmm... so would I rather be losing pressure since the two sizes are so different? And will I or will I not have sound? either way is good for me though...

You wont notice any difference performance wise as you are not changing the diamater of the exhaust piping. Nor will you notice a sound increase, because agian the piping is left stock, and you will still have a resonator on there. You might notice a small difference, but nothing really.

you will notice a small increase in sound, due to the fact that the muffler is most likely going to be a free flow design and the stock muffler is not. Any shop can weld it on just fine. Personaly I've purchased the same muffler, but i'm boring out the Cat, Losing the Resinator, and have 3" pipe fitted all the way to the cat. It's the only way too see any Hp gain.
Muffler $80 shipped Ebay
Piping will probably run from $100 to $120

Much cheaper than a Greddy !

3" pipe = 150+whp,for every 2000lbs.
U=not 150+whp,for every 2000lbs...
so you will lose backpressure=loss of torque,
which = a bad idea for drag racing unless you plan on customizing your own turbo...which I would like to say good luck to ya... I've tried and decided it's not worth the money, or the time... You will have mad high end, but from the line life is gonna suck which is where most races are won from... not to flame but you need low end with honda's and your idea is good for turboed engines that don't need to worry about keeping backpressure, but spitting the air out... 2.5" is the fattest it needs to be, and if you are going for show go with a full cat back, welding looks like crap unless you are fabricating a full catback with at proffesional shop... cost is always the problem though, and if you want the sound it's a must... well later and sorry if I flamed but you will wish you wouldn't have done that! If you like speed...

you WANT to kill as much backpressure as you can.... the more backpressure you eleminate the more power.... you don't lose torque either.. that's just a myth... i say... if you wanna go show.. get just the muffler and no piping... if you want looks and speed then shell out the extra 50 bucks and get the muffler and the piping done as well....

Oh yeah I mean looking ricey is what I plan to be... But sounding it, eh... Doesnt really matter I guess... I rather have no sound than to have a bumblebee buzzing on the back of my car. Anyway, I tried putting on my bro's bike muffler, but I couldnt get the stock one off.LOL. So then I just left the muffler off and tried driving around, I felt like I lost power actually. I would gas it but the car would take a few seconds before it really reacted.
So, Muffler = +- $100
Full Custom Piping? (or whatever else should I get?) Price: ?
