Do you mean you have the nut off ? Not the bolt. Thread the nut back on until the nut is flush with the threads (this protects the threads from getting damaged) and get a hammer and hit it upwards driving the joint up and loose.

You're talking about the tie rod end aren't you ? It is tapered, you will have to either get a special tool for removing it or thread the nut back on and hit it with a hammer upwards to drive the end up and out of the fitting. Just be careful. Also, don't let the hub drop dowm too much, it will pull the drive shaft out of the trans and it can be a biotch to get back in.

Also, I would take the steering tie rod off first ( hit it upwards with a hammer with the nut on the end to protect the threads). Then undo the brackets for the ABS and brake lines and move them out of the way. Then undo the 2 bolts that hold the strut to the hub assy. Then undo the three nuts in the engine compartment to drop the strut down.

You should have seen a PM by now. I would put the two bolts that hold the strut to the hub back in and the three nuts that hold the strut to the tower back on to steady up that strut so you can get a good clean hit on the steering tie rod end. One of mine came up and out easy, the other took some force, but if you are careful, you won't damage anything.

the way i did it was i rented a tie rod seperator from autozone(you pay $15 deposit n they refund it back when you return it). it only took me like 15 seconds. you just hammer it in, lean on it n bam it comes off. dont worry about ripping the boot, its only like $1.50. oh n remember to jack up both sides in order to get the strut back in. i had to learn the hard way.
