engine oil pan tranny mount needed?
engine oil pan tranny mount needed?
Hey guys,
I have a 2003 Honda Civic EX and cracked my oil pan. I bought a new one and installed it yesterday.
The new pan fits just fine, but it does not have the holes drilled for the two mounts that attach to the tranny
. The picture below show the mounts, the area where they are supposed to go, and the old oil pan holes.
Do I need these mounts? Will it be O.K. if I run my car without these parts?
I know this sounds stupid because they are obviously there for a reason, but why would "Spectra" (oil pan manufacturer) make the same oil pan as OEM just without the holes? All help is greatly appreciated!!!
