I'm trying to patch quarter panel rust that i just cant stand to look at anymore. I plan on cutting out alot of the rust since its already a hole. I figure i cant really make it much worse at this point. I dont have the tools to weld in patch panels or the money to have it done professionally. can anyone give some insight to the patching procedure, materials needed, etc.

My plan at this point:

grind/cut off all rust
?? how do i neutralize any trace rust? is it possible
fill hole with fiberglass patch (does brand of filler matter?)
bondo remainder of hole
prime (brand primer matter?)
paint

sure the panel is not bolted on? Would be alot ezier.
