quarter panel rust

I cant believe i couldnt find a previous thread on this. Like so many civic, the paint is bubbling above the rear wheels on the quarter panel. What is the best way to remove it, repair it and hope that it wont come back?

I'll get some pictures up later today.

Re: quarter panel rust

You got the honda cancer as so many of us has been through lol. It sucks but the only way to fix it completely is cut it out and weld another piece there, sand it down smooth then paint it.

Re: quarter panel rust

what year is your car?

Quarter panel rust is extremely common on 4th and 5th gens and to a lesser degree on 6th gens. I haven't seen any bad rust on a 7th gen yet.

Re: quarter panel rust

anything will rust overtime if you neglected the paint like never waxing or not using touch up paint on chips deep scratches and anything with exposed metal if its just surface rust you can sand it prime it and try to match the paint it won't look pretty but its better then letting it get worse over time.

this is my most likely approach. its a 6th gen. I bought it this way and i'm just trying to get the most out of it.
