oil in intake
oil in intake
i replaced my pcv+hose last fall. I was just checking my air filter condition when i saw oil sitting in the flex tube connecting filter box to the throttle body. the airfilter was still clean, but i dont know how long the oil has been accumulating. I assume since changed the filter last time.
Car is running fine, no CEL, no oil consumption. its at the full mark still when i change it at 3000. total oil in the tube was maybe a teaspoon's worth.
is this anything to worry about?

Re: oil in intake
probably not. vacuum goes from the engine to the intake and back thru the throttle body and occassionally a tiny bit of oil comes out as a mist and collects there. ive never had it happen, but its possible. and the stock airbox has a little plastic divider to hold a small amount of oil from passing back into the throttle body. so they designed it with a little oil accumulation in mind.
