Problem with ignition wires. PLEASE HELP!

Problem with ignition wires. PLEASE HELP!
the ignition wires or switch went bad on my 92 honda civic. i the switch out and it works but i need to play with the key a little bit in order to keep the car running. i want to know if i buy used ignition wires can still use the same key?? im not replacing the entire ignition switch, just the wiring part. it looks like this

i am asking this because i think the key has a chip. and if i replace the wires the key wont work. PLEASE HELP ME!
