My car sucks in snow.
Re: My car sucks in snow.
Congrats on being an idiot. I hope you try it again and smack yourself into a phone pole.
Tip: Don't drive drunk, don't try to do "8's" and call it "drifting" on an open internet forum. I hope a cop is reading this and tracks your dumb *** down.

Re: My car sucks in snow.
I don't know if I like it or not, I'm just kinda indifferent towards it. The days are magicless and grey for me, or I'm suffering, with brief moments of happiness thrown in randomly. I did a no-call no-show today at work and yesterday I called in sick. I ****ing hate my job and I'm probably going to get fired. I wish I could just go to work when I feel like it without facing repercusions for ditching. Why am I obligated to go if I don't quite need the money?.......
As far as Winter driving goes: get a decent set of tires - Toyo GO2+ gets my vote for Winters, slow down, give the car in front of you more room and leave 15/20min earlier than normal. If you dont do those things it's not the car that sucks its the driver. I see 4x's in the ditch everyday in the Winter on the same road I'm on- car or driver?
I had my hubcaps on but they tend to squeek alot going over bumps etc in colder temps. They look better than steelies imo but the chirping drove me crazy. My friend works at shop and says almost half the people coming in to get their squeeky suspension checked out are wrong.$80 later he tells them its just their hubcaps rubbing.

well tonight my shocks took a nasty beating lol. i was driving around the backroads that are completely snow covered but plowed, so its firm but has alot of holes everywhere. felt like i was on some wilderness trail and ive never seen my car move up and down so much. i almost hit my head on the roof haha. and oh those front ES bushings, i think they woke the neighbors before my exhaust ever had a chance.

Re: My car sucks in snow.
haha yeah. well today i think im gonna put an order in for more parts at majestic. i need sprash shields for the wheel wells (they are badly torn and nasty road water is going inside where the wires are) and a bunch of other plastic pieces in the car. im glad the snow is starting to melt and most of the main streets are just wet.

Re: My car sucks in snow.
It's funny how off the weather people are. I just take what they say as a grain of salt. When we had that big snow a few days ago, they said it would be snowing for 4 days. Well, up in the mountains I guess, but it snowed for 1 day. Then they said we're supposed to have a big storm coming up, but it looks like it may just rain.
But yeah, I'm glad it's melting.

I just wanted to add that tread isn't everything - the Winter tire compound tends to have a much lower freezing point, so it'll offer far better traction than most sets of all-seasons. Cheaper compounds are going to be freezing too early, but likely don't wear out so soon in the warmer weather (unless if they cheaped out in more ways than I can think of).
You'll want Winters, especially if you live in Canada or the northern states. Else you're basically driving on four black rocks, sliding all over the place.

Re: My car sucks in snow.
ive found that lower tire pressure helps too. i usually run 35 in the summer, but in the winter they are so hard that the ride quality is terrible and feels like no traction in snow. i lowered down to 30 and traction improved, so did the ride quality alot.
Re: My car sucks in snow.
Too many opinions, tread options, top 10 lists, compounds, to choose from when it comes to winter tires. Who really knows what brand is best- Toyo uses walnut shells in some of their tires, michelin uses sand in their winter compound, multi cell compounds, groove shapes, sipe designs....who fuxin knows. As long as they are branded with that mountain/snowflake symbol they are good. Just slow the *** down - Watched some a$$hole smoke this mini-van with kids in it today cause he was going too fast and couldent stop in time
Big up Cleft - this thread reminded me I forgot to re-torque my lugs after I put my winters on last month. That could have been bad.
