Re: Civic trunk bays.

well they sell the plug kits for like 15 bucks but if your lowerd you still need to get the tire off so thats no help and there is a product called SLIME it comes in a squeeze bottle so it cant explode in the trunk which most likely wouldn't happen anyway its pretty good stuff but you still need the compreser . i would rather have that then nothing at all. you can also get those cargo nets at a honda dealer and wall mart.

The point of the trunk cover is not to be seen anyway so why even mention it?
Isn't CF supposed to be stronger than the cardboard it's supposed to replace?
It's more for function rather than form. I'd love to buy one but it doesn't exist.

Re: Civic trunk bays.

yeah thats true, but i wonder how strong it is, and whether it would even weigh any less than the cardboard. carbon fiber parts are surprisingly heavy. i expected them to weigh like a feather or something, but actually many parts are not much lighter than aluminum. a cf hood is around 15 lbs, our stock hood is maybe 20-25 lbs, and some aluminum hoods for other cars are 10-15 lbs. and the cf trunk lid for our car is 25 lbs, which seems very heavy. im sure they are lighter than the stock pieces, but maybe not as much as one would expect.

Good point.

Even if it ends up weighing more than cardboard, which should not be by much, I'd still rock it. Probably because it could be the cheapest CF thing that I can actually use (mine's a grocery getter/dd)
