I m saving up my money to buy a civic and i want to know as far as modifying goes what is the best civic to get to do the most to and to have the most results in speed.

Hmm, im not an expeert on this topic but i do know that the civic Si's come with b16, b18, and maybe b20 motors, which i think are the fastest honda makes stock? Pretty sure, but anyways they are fast. I have a 2000 honda civic and it has a d16y8 motor, ive been told it "screams when done right". I havent had the car long but i have beaten every honda ive gone up against, on the street. I love my car =] aftermarket parts are suuuuper cheap to. The mid 90s-2000 all generally look the same to me, and im pretty sure they are the same in a lot of ways. I think 01 was the new body style.

best civic is the 99-2000 SI coupe. with a supercharger, it will make over 200whp easily. most civics 2000 and below are good reliable cars. 2001+ turned into junk.

2006+ SI is or 2000 or older SI/Integra are the best to modify. You can get a Cobb Access Port for the newer SI mated with I/H/E and yield 200whp easy.

so would it be better to buy an SI as is, buy a 2000 coupe and upgrade to a b16/18, or get what i got? now this got me thinkin -_- need to start a thread haha

i would try to find an si that hasnt been abused or modded. its hard but theyre out there. also if you choose the 2000 si, its the most stolen civic so you need to protect it. new si nobody cares about.

yeah if you can import one of those, it will get stolen faster than the si!
