Alternator issues
Alternator issues
My alternator went out...at least i thought...took it to pepboys to test it and they said it was fine...so i brought it back home and put it in my car and it still doesn't charge my battery...i bought new battery terminals and they still didn't help it...i bought a cheap alternator test kit and showed that it was 12 volts while running..but i know it should be over 13...i have a 96 civic ex with a swapped B16A jdm engine...any help would be appreciate..thanks

Re: Alternator issues
might be loose wire between alternator and battery. make sure the power wire is tight on the alternator side, ive had mine get loose over time. and have it tested somewhere else.
Re: Alternator issues
well i fixed the alternator..don't know how but changed all the fuses and put them in the right places...but now i have another problem...i have no vtec and im idling at 2500 rpms...but im just wondering if that could be because the alternator is in full output...
