I need to relieve the pressure on my fuel pressure system to install a new banjo bolt. How do I do that? Thanks!

something involving, remove fuel cap, take out the fuel pump relays, and let the car run til it stalls. im not exactly sure, hopefully someone whos done it before can comment. usually just opening the gas cap is enough, but fuel will still leak out.
