Should I bother with camber adjust??

ok...I am finnaly getting new shocks and struts for 2k2 Civic LX...I am getting the KONI Adjustables and the Eibach Sportline Performance Springs...with the Springs the drop will about 1.8"...i was wondering if I would need to worry about adjusting the camber??? and YES i did search the old forums and I know that with each 1" drop there is about -1 degree camber....it cant be that bad can it??? thanks..

I'll tell you something. I've bean on this forum a long time. I've read a bunch of posts. I just bought the ingalls front and rear camber kits. I don't have rims or a drop yet, but I'm planning on getting shocks first. Then either coilovers or air bags. Then the rims. I do everything in "reverse" order so that there will be no problems. In other words, just get the camber kits and have a shop do a proper alignment.

Honda recommends that you have only -1 degree camber plus or minus 1 degree. My car stock was almost -1 degree. With the Eibach Sportlines installed, my car registered over -3 degrees. This is way too off and would have been pretty bad on tires. The Ingalls kit allowed me to have the car realigned and now everything is going good.

You can pay 150 dollars and get a good alignment, or you can replace tires maybe twice as fast. In my mind, 150 dollars won't buy two tires much less a full set, so it was an easy decision.

I guess what I am trying to say is if you want to do it the correct way, buy the Ingalls or Eibach alignment kits. If you want to save a little bit of money upfront and spend more later, don't do it. But it is usually cheaper to do it the right way first.

It's just like wood work: Measure twice, cut once. A lot of good advice. Do it right the first time.

Camber kits aren't that expensive and are worth it because it's like insurance, you probably don't need it, but just in case. It's good to have perfect camber. Perfection is niiiice.. I'm going to get Neuspeed because I like the ride height, but I'm also buying a camber kit, because I plan on spending big bucks on struts, wheels, and tires. . And I don't want those taking a crap on me prematurley, and with +- camber that risk exists. It probably wont cause a instant problem, but will definately reduce the longivity of your tires. Now. . this isn't true if you rotate the tires like every month. Then they'll wear even, but will still wear faster. I hope this helps at least a little. If you want to know what the car looks like with Neuspeed sport springs check out pimpdakota's car. It looks smooth. Remember that height is the sport springs.. The racing ones are really low. Anyways. . Hope this helps, I'll c'ya around. . .
